Democrats Who Campaigned Against Rigged Maps Are Now Drawing the Most Extreme Gerrymander in Virginia History
Democrat politicians are trying to rig Virginia’s elections, and they’re hoping you won’t notice until it’s too late.
Governor Abigail Spanberger made gerrymandering her very first priority in office. Not fixing schools. Not lowering your taxes. Not fighting crime. Nope—her Day One mission was signing a bill that lets her party redraw congressional maps to guarantee Democrats win 10 out of 11 seats. That’s not representation. That’s a hostile takeover.
Here’s the kicker: Spanberger herself called gerrymandering “detrimental to our democracy” back in 2019. Apparently, she only meant it when Republicans were in charge.
Below: then-Congresswoman Abigail Spanberger’s tweet from 2019…
The Fairfax County Democrats pushing this scheme aren’t even pretending it’s fair. When a reporter asked State Senator Dave Marsden (D-35th District) if a 10-to-1 map was fair to the half of Virginians who vote Republican, he shrugged it off: “If you lie down in front of a truck, you get run over.” WJLAThat’s what your State Senator thinks of your vote—roadkill.
Senate Majority Leader Scott Surovell (D-34th District, Fairfax) is the architect of this power grab. He wants to trash the bipartisan redistricting commission that 66% of Virginia voters approved in 2020. Why? Because fair maps don’t guarantee Democrat control—and that’s all these politicians care about.
A judge already ruled Democrats broke the law pushing this amendment. They don’t care. They’re appealing and ramming it through anyway.
April 21, 2026 is your chance to stop them. VOTE NO on the redistricting amendment. They chose power over your voice. Make them pay for it.
